In June, collaborators for Vetanco Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico came to Germany to attend the 27th International Pig Veterinary Society Congress (IPVS) and the 15th European Symposium of Porcine Health Management (ESPHM).
The IPVS is considered one of the most important scientific conferences in global pig farming and is held every two years, whereas ESPHM is held annually. In 2024, both events took place from June 4th to 7th at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL).
Composed of professionals and clients from Vetanco, the Argentine, Brazilian, Colombian, and Mexican delegations made their first stop in Budapest, Hungary, the headquarters of Dr. Bata Ltd., an important business partner of Vetanco. In this city, the group, welcomed by Dr. Arpad Bata, the CEO of this company, and his team, had the opportunity to visit the facilities and learn about the history of the Hungarian laboratory. The visit covered the production areas of some of the company’s main pig products.
After visiting Dr. Bata’s manufacturing plant and tourist attractions in Budapest, the professionals from the different delegations also had the opportunity to tour cities, such as Berlin, Prague, or Vienna, from where they continued on to Leipzig, their final destination.
In the IPVS Congress, the participants had access to updated information about technological advances and solutions to improve commercial pig production, making it more productive, cost-effective, and sustainable, with significant opportunities to exchange technical and scientific experiences.
Evidence of this is Vetanco Brazil’s contribution to the IPVS which included the presentation of four scientific papers produced by Vetanco’s technical staff in collaboration with research centers and universities. The presentation of the pieces was in charge of José Paulo Sato, DVM, Technical Consultant for Dr. Bata Brazil.
At the Fair, Vetanco was also present through the booth of its business partner Dr. Bata, where the company welcomed its clients and other professionals from the industry. At the end of the first day of the event, a meeting between professionals from both companies and clients marked the beginning of the 2024 IPVS.
